Why is there so much free text required for the Care Statements snippet?

The amount of free text will vary depending on individual needs. 

We understand the amount of time required to perform manual data entry is a concern.

We will be working towards automating this process in the future when there is more clarity around this requirement.

Is AutumnCare planning to automate the Care Statement process?

Yes, once we have clear guidelines from the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, we will work towards automating the collection of data for Care Statements.

Is a monthly timeframe for Care Statements realistic?

We agree that a monthly timeframe will be challenging, however, this timeframe will be determined by the Aged Care Quality & Safety Commission.

How do we ensure that users complete all necessary fields in the snippet?

It is important that staff receive relevant training and understand this new requirement to ensure information is documented and shared appropriately.

Similar to other case notes, if a snippet is saved with errors or is incomplete, it can be marked as written in error, and a new snippet can be created.

Can some information in the Care Statements be pre-populated from the system?

Not directly into the snippet, however, predefined and custom reports are available to help collect information such as incidents, infections, and hospitalisations.

We will be exploring further automation options in the future.

How can Care Statements be printed in a reader-friendly format?

Care Statements can be saved as PDFs and printed by clicking on the snippet case note and selecting the Print button in the Task menu.

We recommend using clear and concise terminology to enhance readability.

We already use a monthly care summary. Can this align with the new Care Statement requirements?

Yes, existing practices like monthly care summaries can assist to meet the Care Statement requirements.

Has adding a Care Statement summary to the Resident of the Day (ROD) process been considered?

This suggestion will be reviewed, however, not all clients use a ROD process, so we need to consider various processes.

We have data in other systems. How will this be consolidated into Care Statements?

We understand the need for better integration and are exploring future improvements to consolidate data in the future.
